Marketing Best Practices
Flyers, Brochures & Handouts
Flyers and brochures are powerful tools that can communicate key information in a clear, visual way, making them perfect for reaching busy parents and school staff. Let’s explore the best use cases and audiences for each one!
Flyers
Flyers fit on standard letter-size paper (8.5” x 11”), which makes them ideal for fast, cheap printing via an office printer or a professional print shop like Office Depot.
Flyers are perfect for letting our current parents know that enrollment is open, and they can also catch the eye of prospective parents – increasing our brand awareness AND enrollments!
Flyer Templates
For each new upcoming program (Right Club, Discovery Clubs, Break Camps, and Summer Camp), the marketing team will create flyers and flyer templates. The marketing team will communicate if you are expected to create a flyer for your programs, or if a flyer will be made for you.
Unique Flyers
There may be a need for you to have a custom flyer created for a program, event, or other need. If this is the case, get in touch with the marketing team! They can help you make something up so you don’t have to spend your time fiddling with Canva.
How to Use Flyers
- #1 BEST USE: hand them out to parents at program pick-up or drop-off! Parents are more likely to see and read them this way.
- Bring them to school and community events this summer and hand them out to families.
- Keep a stack in your car... you never know when you’ll meet a parent in need of after school!
- Flyers can be hung up on bulletin boards in the community, but POSTERS are even better for this!
Brochures
Brochures offer a more in-depth look at RAS programs than flyers or posters can offer. These brochures are a great way to inform families about the content of our programs and the benefits to kids and parents. They can help increase leads (potential new RAS parents), and contain information that remains relevant longer than flyers or posters.
Brochures are ideal for new families just hearing about RAS for the first time, making them great to give away at events or leave behind at coffee shops or community centers.
How to Use Brochures
- Drop off a stack of brochures at the front offices of your schools for parents to pick up.
- Bring to school and community events to pass out this Summer!
- Doctor’s offices (pediatricians) often have a place to leave brochures.
- Keep some on hand in case a new parent is looking for a quick rundown about who we are and what we do.
- Brochures go great in take-home or giveaway kits. Grab a small bag, insert some candy, a pencil, some other items for kids or parents, add a brochure, and you’ve got an excellent “party favor” to give away!
Postcards
Postcards are a smaller, more eye-catching piece of marketing material that serve a similar purpose to flyers, but may help you save on space if you’re placing these on a table.
How to Use Postcards
- Drop off a stack at the front offices of your schools for parents to pick up if the office is short on space.
- Leave at your parent table as an alternative to flyers.
