What you need to know to get started!

Marketing to RAS Families

Since we see them each day in program, there are a ton of opportunities to market to families currently enrolled in RAS programs!

The key is frequency and consistency to make sure they’re in tune with new programs throughout the year.

It’s also critical to maintain touchpoints with them even if there aren’t any new upcoming programs. The best way to keep parents engaged and coming back to Right At School is to demonstrate the value of our programs and show how much fun their kids are having!

Marketing to our families is also not a ‘one and done’ process. Throughout each season, circulate flyers multiple times. Leverage your school newsletters to send reminders. Host engagement events at least once every three months. The more you put into connecting with your RAS community, the better the results you’ll see in terms of enrollment and NPS scores!

flyers, Brochures & Handouts

For each new upcoming program (Right Club, Discovery Clubs, Break Camps, and Summer Camp), the marketing team will develop flyers, brochures, and handouts.

Each family enrolled in RAS should receive a physical paper flyer.  Don’t just leave flyers on the parent table and hope that parents pick them up – hand them to each child’s parent/guardian at pickup and give them a super-short pitch.

Example: “We’re hosting Spring Break Camp here at Smith Elementary! We’ll be open from 7-5 each day so you can drop Jimmy off for a long day of crafts, experiments, and learning fun!”

Family Boards/ Tables

The Family Board/Table, also known as the Parent Board, is often the first thing that parents see when they come for pickup, so make sure it’s the best representation of what’s going on at RAS and key things parents need to know!

Each day before program, make sure that:

  • The family board is neat, clean, and not missing any critical information
  • Any outdated information has been removed
  • Flyers for upcoming camps or programs are on the table

Signage

Yard signs, banners, window clings, and more – there’s no better way to capture the attention of both RAS families and new families than with a bright, eye-catching sign!

Of course, ask your school’s permission before placing any signs around the school. Once you have their permission, be strategic about the location!

Have restrictions on what signage you can place? No problem! We’ve worked to create a menu of options. If you can’t utilize outside space, place window clings on outside facing windows. If your sites have metal doors, place magnets on each one.

Don’t stop at your schools! Order extra yard signs to place in prominent intersections in your town, or even in your yard! (If placing them outside a building or business, please ask for the business owner’s permission before doing so.)

Newsletters

Newsletters are a FABULOUS way to keep parents informed about curriculum units, activities, important dates and deadlines, and much more.

Family Portal Communications

We’re thrilled to see field leaders actively using LineLeader’s communication tools to keep families informed and engaged. Your efforts play a key role in building trust and community.

As we continue to expand how we connect with families, we want to ensure these tools remain effective and well-received. The guidance below is designed to ensure that every communication adds value, keeping families tuned-in and excited about their children’s RAS experience.

✅ Do This:

  • Use the “Reminders” feature sparingly and strategically.
  • One reminder per week, per announcement is welcome — daily or hourly sends are not.
  • Only send marketing-related communications (like registration announcements) if encouraged to do so by the Central Office Marketing Team.
  • Marketing will provide templates and timing recommendations as needed.
  • Use LineLeader for high-value, local communications, such as:
  • Critical operational updates (e.g., weather closures, location changes, safety notices)
  • Program engagement messages, like weekly or monthly newsletters that spotlight what students are learning, creating, and enjoying.

🚫 Avoid This:

    • Overusing the “Reminder” feature in LineLeader
      • This feature sends an automatic repeat of the original announcement, which can easily overwhelm families if not used carefully.
  • Limit reminders to no more than one per week, per announcement.
  • Sending your own marketing emails (e.g., “Registration is open!”)
    • Rest assured, Marketing is already sending multiple, targeted registration messages per week.
    • Marketing may provide approved LineLeader communication templates and timing guidelines with each registration campaign.
