Marketing Best Practices

Working With Principals & District Partners

Engaging with school leaders and parent organizations is a key step in ensuring that our programs reaches the families who need it most. As an area manager, building strong relationships with principals and PTA members can make a huge difference in spreading the word and encouraging participation.

Build Strong Relationships with Principals and PTA Members

Reach out to the principal and key PTA members to introduce yourself and your program. Share your enthusiasm and highlight the benefits your program offers to students and families.

Establish mutual goals! Show how RAS aligns with the school’s mission to support student development, safety, and well-being.

Top Tip:

Try to meet in person. A face-to-face meeting or informal chat helps build rapport and allows you to present your program directly to school leaders.

Ask for Help in Distributing Information

  • Request to Send Program Information in School Newsletters: Ask the principal or PTA if they can include your program details in their school-wide newsletter.
  • Ask to Feature RAS on School/District Website: Request that the school features a call to action to register for RAS on their website, or ask if we can have a permanent page under their resources for family section. Use our web kit (linked below) for approved language and graphics.
  • Host a Booth at PTA Meetings or School Events: Offer to set up a table or give a short presentation at upcoming PTA meetings, where you can personally speak with parents and distribute flyers.

Leverage School Social Media Channels: If the school uses social media, ask if you can share your program’s details via their platforms to reach a wider audience of parents.

Top Tip:

‘Sweeten’ the deal by accompanying asks with a box of donuts or treats for the office staff. A little treat can go a long way!

Stay Engaged and Supportive

Maintain an open line of communication with the principal and PTA members throughout the school year. Let them know if there are new activities or updates that might interest families.

Even if you don’t have new programs upcoming, it’s key to remind them that parents’ situations may have changed and there may be a sudden need for childcare mid-year.

Top Tip:

Stay Active in School Events! Participate in school events to stay visible and involved, further strengthening the relationship with school leaders and parents. Support school and PTO efforts like Walk-a-thons, fundraisers, or Teacher Appreciation Week. If you need assistance with coordinating a sponsorship, reach out to the Marketing Team!
