The new school year is here! Here’s how to keep families in the know and stay on top of driving enrollments for Discovery Clubs.
Strategy Guide Outline

Overview
Discovery Clubs are short, hands-on programs held right after school (or sometimes before school, depending on location). They are designed to spark curiosity and excitement—offering kids the chance to explore new interests like sports, STEAM, home economics, and more. With three sessions typically offered throughout the year (fall, winter, spring), kids can try something different each season—all in a convenient, on-campus setting.
We highlight:
- Seasonal Variety – New club options each fall, winter, and spring keep things fresh.
- Convenient & Onsite – Held right at school, immediately after dismissal.
- Interest-Driven – Kids can explore passions like art, sports, STEM, and more.
- Low Commitment – Short sessions make it easy to try something new without a long-term obligation.
More to Explore – Whether it’s their first club or their fifth, there’s always something new to discover.

| Marketing Stage | Description of Stage | Estimated Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1: Pre-Registration | This is the time before registration opens for club sign-ups. | At least 1 week, ideally 2-3 |
| Stage 2: Registration Opening Week | This is the week that registration opens, and is the highest in attention peak | 1 week |
| Stage 3: Ongoing Registration | This is the time after the first week of registration opening, but before clubs actually start. | About 3 weeks |
| Stage 4: Final Registration Period | This is the time after clubs have started, but before registration officially ends. |
Stage 1: Pre-Registration
Priority
- Order and display signage inside or outside school entrances.
- Partner with your principals for morning announcements about club registration.
Additional
- PTA or School Newsletter Inclusion: Request a short blurb or a “Top 3 Clubs” highlight.
- Digital Signage or School TVs: If your school has screens, request a slide or looped ad. Contact [email protected] with the screen specifications and any content guidelines so we can help create your digital signage asset.
Stage 2: Registration Opening Week
Priority
- Post flyers in hallways, entryways, and the main office.
- Announce open registration via your Line Leader account. (once)
- A simple script/template is provided to make this announcement easy and consistent.
Additional
- Deliver flyers to each classroom for in-school distribution.
- Teacher Shoutouts: Ask classroom or specials teachers to recommend clubs that connect to their subjects. (Think: Gym teacher plugging Soccer, Art teacher highlighting Pottery, or Science teacher recommending STEM clubs!)
- Chalk Messages on Sidewalks: Write fun, bold messages like “Discovery Clubs Start Soon!” or “Ask About After-School Clubs!”—they’re eye-catching for both kids and parents during arrival and dismissal. (Be sure to get permission from the principal or school administrators before drawing!)
Stage 3: Ongoing Registration
Priority
- Backpack Mail: Printed flyers sent home in folders—even better if signed “from your Program Manager.”
- When families approach during pickup: Talk about Discovery Clubs—this is a high-opportunity moment! If you’re comfortable and familiar with the child’s interests, recommend a specific club that aligns with their skills or passions. Personal recommendations go a long way!
- Conversation Starters: “Has Jamie ever tried coding? We’ve got a great club for beginners!”
Additional
- Table at assemblies, plays, and other parent-attended events—bring flyers or QR codes.
- Club Fair or Info Session: Offer a “What’s Discovery Club?” booth before/after school or during open house. Depending on the clubs offered at your school, bring out a few eye-catching props—like a soccer ball, paint bottles, chessboard, or robot kit—to spark curiosity and conversation.
- QR Codes at Pickup: Wear a lanyard or clipboard with a QR that links directly to registration.
- Discovery Club Preview Table: Set up a table 1–2 times a week with flyers, registration help, and club examples (e.g. a chessboard, robot, art sample).
Stage 4: Final Registration Period
Priority
- When families approach during pickup: Talk about Discovery Clubs—this is a high-opportunity moment! If you’re comfortable and familiar with the child’s interests, recommend a specific club that aligns with their skills or passions. Personal recommendations go a long way!
- Conversation Starters: “Has Jamie ever tried coding? We’ve got a great club for beginners!”
Additional
- Check in with Discovery Club families on how their first class went.
- Make note of families signed up for only Discovery Clubs, Only After School and both for future conversations.
